The view from the top of the mountain is great. There is also a monkey cage where you can feed the monkeys up close. There's also an onsen shrine up the mountain which is an hour round trip hike from rope line.
That was a nice and a bit of intimate experience, since the place is not big at all, seemed to us there were a lot of locals, whom invited us - tourists whom stayed in a wrong spot first - to dance with them and to have a small chit chat.
You can find bigger Sakura fest in Japan for sure, but if you are in Nikko on that time, try it you won't regret
View was decent. Monkey exhibit was sad. Trail was boring. I got a free bookmark for the anniversary.
Amazing views
This will be a visit on December 20, 2024. It's a bit of a walk from the station. Apparently it takes 4 minutes to cover the 300m difference in altitude.
The round trip fare was around 1,200 yen. There should be discounts available, so be sure to check in advance. The ropeway comes about once every 30 minutes.
The scenery while riding is a never-ending coniferous forest to the side, but the view behind you gets higher and higher, which is fun. There is Onsen Shrine at the top, but even if it's not on the map, there is also what appears to be a lower shrine next to the station.
