This is first time to visiting this children's paradise. Although the weather is quite cold and it is close to the seaside which can enjoy the beautiful harbor together with the vast blue sky. There are also so many unique and cute cartoon characters and exquisite products. It is also one of the must-visit attractions for cartoon fans.
It was a fun experience for my 1.5 year old. The actual play area was smaller than expected but sufficient. We went on a weekend which was extremely crowded that my boy couldn't play peacefully before some other kids would come to want to play on the same thing. I'd recommend to come on weekdays. We booked ahead online and this made it easier. The restaurants downstairs were quite fun with Anpanman themed food. Lots of shops downstairs with very nice anpanman toys, clothing, plushies. We were the only tourists there so it's great to get this very Japanese experience.
Here is the story. When I am heading to ticket booth, a male japanese staff stop me and said: "reservation ?" . I said‘’No,but I want to buy tickets there". The staff manifested that we can only go down stairs for shopping but not the museum. I therefore go down stairs and looking for further information. The information booth staff told me we can buy the ticket without so called ‘’reservation ‘’. and she is shocked that the male staff told us we have to make reservation. Being fooled and with anger, I went up stairs directly to ticket booth asking another staff. I friendly asked other staffs and they said we can buy tickets without so called ‘’reservation‘’. I questioned the male staff why deterred us from going into the museum. He remained silent with angry face. I wonder if the discrimination is allowed there. It's unacceptable for being fooled based on different nationalities. I was disappointed by this experience. However, I must clarify that most staffs there were kind and willing to resolve this disgusting issue. The manager apologized to us many times and commented to that male staff in person. For this reason, I change my mind to give the museum two stars from no star. I hope my experience will let other foreigners be aware of this issue. If the is a discrimination, don't tolerate.
It's more of a play area than a museum. There are slides, big bouncy balls and some sets to play with. I went with my 2 year old daughter and she really enjoyed it. We went at 10:30 on a Saturday and it was very overcrowded so I recommend coming after lunchtime. You can exit and reenter so when it was busy we went out for lunch and came back. The main attraction is a 15 minute show in the theatre. People took seats from an hour before so you will probably have to stand. Good for kids aged 1-6. A bit overpriced though as there isn't a whole lot to see or do in the museum. The mall part is mostly a huge gift shop.
it's nice, fun and cute if you have kids between 1 to 4yo.
we paid for 2 adults 2 kids (same price per pax) but they only checked for adults upon entry for L2. L1 is free entry featuring anpanman themed food & drinks..toys & even a barber!
all shoes allowed inside which i thought wasnt hygienic especially for young kids.
it is a play area not a museum. toilets are clean and there is a water dispenser.
we enjoyed the show the most! we caught the last show at 330pm. people started seating in to get the seats at 1 - 1.5hrs prior! we arrived on time and had to stand at the back. the show was completely in Japanese and we didnt understand a single word but the hosts had infectious energy! the sound and lights complemented the energy!
it was also crowded on L2 which made the experience less enjoyable.
