The Kobe Maritime Museum is an absolute gem in the Meriken Park area. Even before you step inside, the building itself captures your attention with its spectacular, white framework roof designed to look like a ship's sails. It is truly an architectural masterpiece, especially when lit up beautifully at night!
Inside, the museum offers a fascinating journey through Kobe's history as a major international port. The detailed ship models, historical artifacts, and interactive exhibits are incredibly well-presented and engaging for all ages.
The highlight for many—including myself—is the Kawasaki Good Times World section included with the ticket. As a fan of engineering and technology, seeing the historic Kawasaki motorcycles, racing bikes, Shinkansen (bullet train) simulators, and helicopters up close was a thrilling experience. It’s highly interactive and a lot of fun!
The museum is spacious, clean, and perfectly air-conditioned, making it a wonderful escape for a couple of hours. It offers a great blend of maritime history and modern industrial innovation. Highly recommended if you are visiting Kobe
An interesting little museum covering all sorts of maritime history with many models of many sizes to illustrate the changing designs and uses of ships. It also explains Kobe's part in all this. It's not particularly big, so won't take too long to walk around, unless you carefully read all the descriptions etc. I found it interesting enough and saw some things I really didn't expect to see!
I was very surprised about the Kawasaki exhibit. I thought it would be all about bikes (of which there are quite a few), but I was very much enlightened and found out they have also made planes, helicopters, trains and even had a hand the giant boring machine that helped build the English Channel tunnel! It was very unexpected and very informative. I greatly enjoyed it!
We really enjoyed our visit to the Kobe Maritime Museum. The exhibits were interesting and easy to explore, and we learned a lot about Kobe's maritime history and the importance of its port. We especially liked the interactive displays, which made the experience more engaging. The museum was clean, well organized, and located in a beautiful area by the harbor. It was a relaxing and enjoyable visit, and we'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're exploring Kobe ☺️✨
Fun museum. Went as we bought the Kobe Tourist Passport and it’s covered inside.
Found the Kawasaki portion more interesting and informative. Did not know that they had that many products.
Will recommend spending about 1-2 hours here.

Education n meaningful visit as this museum houses many exhibits fr sailboats to cruise liners, container ships, n gifts fr other countries. There's also an exhibition on Kawasaki now. It's really worth a visit. d surroundings r also scenic n we chanced upon a summer festival.
