What other travelers are saying about Koedo Osatsuan, Kawagoe
My name is Bruna Moreira, and I’m the founder of Verena Café — and let me tell you: this place is an absolute must-visit in Kawagoe.
There was a queue when we arrived, so of course the first things I thought were:
Is it worth waiting?
Will I enjoy it?
Should I stay?
And the answer to all of them was: YES.
It’s not just a quick stop — it’s an experience. We tried the sweet potato chips with different dipping sauces, and they were incredible. There are so many fun and unique options on the menu, so definitely take your time to explore and enjoy.
If you're visiting Kawagoe, make sure this place is on your list.
We loved it — and I’d happily go back again. 💛
A shop specializing in fried purple sweet potatoes, their main menu revolves around this local specialty. Offerings include fried purple sweet potatoes, purple sweet potato ice cream, and various other fried vegetables like pumpkin, lotus root, and sweet potatoes. The dishes are served in sets with a selection of dipping sauces. For a unique twist, you can even dip the fried items in the ice cream—it’s surprisingly delicious!
The take away container of sweet potato chips was a great snack, we should have bought more!
Nothing special about the food. Just a crisp with the a lot of sauce Varian. It about 400 ¥ for minimal buy.
Lots of people make a line. Just once try, and not go there anymore.
We order the mix of sweet potato, lotus root, potato bundle with salt butter is yummy!
