Probably the best place to see autumn foliage in Hakodate that you don't have to go to far from the city centre or from the other attractions. If you're driving from the airport, if schedule allows, might as well do this park before you check in to your hotel. And if you are staying in the Onsen region nearby, this park is only a 10 minutes drive away. The garden is near, clean and well organised. The route gives you a nice walk around from the car park and back, covering all the foliage trees and best spots, as well as the towering pines. If you're here in season, I strongly recommend you drop by. They do light up with illumination during selected periods of autumn. So check your schedule. In my opinion the best time of the year to visit for autumn foliage is around late October to early November. The colours are amazing!

Took a 40 minute bus ride from Hakodate station (bus 82) to Kosetsuen bus stop (ask driver to help alert you though the stops are also announced). Be sure to check the return timings as the last bus is about 1900 hrs and run at frequency of 60-90 mins.
We came on the first day of the Momi G festival so the trees have not turned red yet. But it was still very nice to walk through the park. Nice giant trees and open spaces. It wasn't very big so took us less than an hour. We decided to take a earlier bus back to Hakodate Station
Must visit in Hakodate, especially during Autumn. Known as Miharashi Park

You hear sound of whistling trees and your own steps. Such a marvelous experience.
The air so fresh, and can be windy cold during autumn. Wear some jackets and gloves
Took me about 45 minutes here to enjoy the scenery, while it is not a very big park, but i enjoy my time here.
Came here on Sat, Nov 2, 2024, for a free Momi-G Festival, which starts from 4pm to 9pm. I arrived at about 5.30 pm and had to wait for 20 mins for the car park. When I left, the queue for parking was even longer.
The park did not disappoint. The lit-up section is quite small, but it was still pretty. If you plan to come and wish to drive, come earlier. I read that the illumination will be on until 10 November 2024.
