Visited in mid-April 2026 Cherry blossoms were in full bloom along the river in Mikamo-juku on the Izumo Road. Parking and restrooms are available at the nearby Mikamo Promotion Bureau. There are several benches along the riverbank. There is a vending machine in the parking lot of Mikamo Shrine.

The cherry blossoms in Mikan-Shukuba were expected to be in full bloom on April 9, 2026, but unfortunately it was a cloudy day. I estimate that snow will begin to fall around April 11-12.

These cherry blossoms are located along the Shinjo River, which flows alongside Mikanjuku on the Izumo Kaido. As of April 16, 2025, they were in full bloom. It was very beautiful. We were advised to use the parking lot at the Mikan Health Promotion Facility.

Saturday, April 11th, 2026. We enjoyed the cherry blossoms in full bloom and the falling petals. I recommend bringing a packed lunch.

On April 16th, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. It was wonderful. I stopped by on my way back from seeing the Triumphant Cherry Blossoms. It was quite close to Shinjo Village. The cherry blossoms were difficult to see from National Route 181, and since they were along the river, I almost drove right past them. I ate my lunch on a bench placed along the river. Even though it was a weekday, there were other people there to see the cherry blossoms. However, there were fewer people compared to the more famous spots. I was able to relax. 😊
