What other travelers are saying about Nakayama Flower House, Iyo
The bougainvillea were in full bloom. The plants in the greenhouse are lovely, but the items for sale also change seasonally, and there are some rare ones, which makes it fun.
I like succulents and occasionally go there to buy them.
There's a plaza and deer nearby, so I think it's a fun place to visit with family.
In May 2022, the second floor was renovated and a rock garden was created. It was very nice. I was able to sit on a chair and relax while enjoying the view.
However, I went during Golden Week, and there were children running around on the boards bordering the rock garden, stepping into the planted areas. I was worried they would trample the plants at any moment!
Since there were few people on the second floor, the kids were pulling on the plants and doing whatever they wanted 😓
As soon as one kid left, another would come along 💦💦
Look at the prices downstairs; these plants cost thousands to tens of thousands of yen 😱
Parents bringing their children should be a little careful 😅
The sales area had been renovated and was very beautiful, making it enjoyable even for people just looking.
For me, who went there with the intention of buying something, the slightly overgrown plants that were on clearance were gone, which was disappointing since I like to cut succulents and use them for cuttings.
There were lots of them displayed in front of the greenhouse at the back; I wish I could buy those too.
Only beautiful products were left, and the prices seemed to have gone up a bit.

Being a "flower" house, I assumed I'd be able to see a wide variety of flowers, but it turns out the main attraction is ornamental plants.
I asked about the best season for flowers to bloom, and was told that there are a few more around June, but most of the flowers are small, so it's not like you can be surrounded by flowers.
Apparently the fruit is large, so perhaps the sweet scent of fruit will lure you in.
Still, I'm grateful that admission to such a facility is free. They also sold potted plants, but I'm sorry I couldn't spend any money on them since I'll just end up letting them wither when I buy them.
This botanical garden has rare tropical plants tastefully arranged.
There are chairs and tables, and you can also drink coffee.
Surprisingly, it's not too hot, even in the summer.
At the free-to-enjoy flower garden, you can purchase houseplants and other items.
Coffee and other beverages are also available.
I visited on a Sunday, and there was a crepe stand.
There's also a deer farm.
There's plenty of parking, and it's a lovely place surrounded by nature.
