What other travelers are saying about Nobeoka Station
This station is where you can take the bus going to Takachiho Gorge. There’s a Starbucks and a Family Mart, there’s a bus terminal to the right side from the exit gate. The comfort rooms are also that way. Couldn’t walk around to explore, but there does not seem to be a lot of stores within the station perimeter.
I think this station has the most comfortable bus waiting room in Japan. The station building itself seems to be a big library building, so the waiting room has many books.
The building has a lot of signage, BUT ... NO signage nor directions for coin lockers. I had to run around looking for the lockers worrying about missing the bus to Takachiho, could not find it & had to ask JR's gate staff for the information.
Highway bus station was moved as new. Right side of the building, easy to find with signboard. Depert to Takachiho and several city in Kyushu. Other local bus station is station side.
I recommend you to use "Visit Miyazaki bus pass" and can buy at Miyazaki Koutuu travel desk in this station building.
JR staff incompetent and unwilling to help! Trains got canceled due to bad weather, ok, can happen, no ones fault. But they kept saying next train after next train till after 5:30 they said suspended for the rest of the day. Not only did I waste a full day of my vacation at the station, i also need to book an extra hotel. They didnt order a replacement bus, they didnt help organize a rental car. Nothing … just a useless „Sorry“
The building is new, super clean and very nice. The restrooms are new and super clean. The book store is cool. It's a very nice place to sit and enjoy reading a book here.
There is a convenient store, Starbucks coffee and souvenir shop at the same building. There is also a section for very little kids to play.
