Oishi Park is a scenic gem located on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. Its prime location offers a stunning, uninterrupted view of Mount Fuji, reflected in the serene waters of the lake.

This park is a haven for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking a peaceful escape. A significant highlight is the 350-meter "Flower Street," a vibrant pathway adorned with seasonal flowers that change throughout the year.

Tulips create a colorful display in spring, while lavender fields bloom in late June to mid-July, filling the air with their soothing fragrance. Autumn brings fiery red kochia, strikingly contrasting the tranquil blue of the lake.

Oishi Park is also home to the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center, where visitors can participate in hands-on jam-making workshops using locally sourced fruits. The café at the center provides the perfect spot to relax with a treat while enjoying panoramic views of Mount Fuji.

Whether you're here to capture the beauty of Japan's iconic mountain, stroll through floral landscapes, or savor local flavors, Oishi Park promises a memorable experience. Make it a part of your journey to discover the natural wonders and cultural charm of Yamanashi Prefecture!

Traveler reviews

The view from here is magnificent. The Nemophila fields in late May is very nice? There are also a few colourful flowers there still, even in late spring. Not too many people when we came, can get many unobstructed pics of Fujisan and the flower fields. There is a nice souvenir shop nearby but too many people and quite pricey. There is also an ice cream store. It was delicious. Ample parking space, and plenty toilets.

Oishi Park is a very relaxing and beautiful place near Mount Fuji. The scenery here is amazing, especially with the combination of flowers, the lake, and the view of Mount Fuji in the background. There are many great photo spots, and the atmosphere feels peaceful and refreshing. The area is also clean and comfortable to walk around. It’s a nice place to slow down, enjoy nature, and just take in the view . There are also small shops and snacks nearby, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s definitely worth visiting if you want to enjoy one of the most iconic views of Mount Fuji in a calm and relaxing environment.
Visited Ōishi Park near Lake Kawaguchi, and it was a fantastic experience. The park offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji, especially on clear days, with the lake in the foreground creating a picture-perfect setting. The seasonal flowers — from lavender to colorful blossoms — made the scenery even more beautiful and enjoyable for the whole family. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, ideal for strolling, taking photos, or simply sitting back to admire the landscape. Facilities were well maintained, and the pathways made it easy to explore with kids. We loved how family-friendly the park felt, with plenty of open space and natural beauty to enjoy. It’s a great spot to pause during a Hakone/Fuji trip and soak in Japan’s iconic scenery. Overall, Ōishi Park is a must-visit destination near Mt. Fuji — perfect for travelers looking for breathtaking views, seasonal charm, and a memorable outdoor experience.
If you are planning a trip to Japan, **Oishi Park** at Lake Kawaguchi is an absolute must-visit destination. I recently had the chance to visit this beautiful spot, and it was the highlight of my entire journey. Located on the northern shore of the lake, it offers one of the most unobstructed and breathtaking views of **Mount Fuji**. ### The Perfect View What makes Oishi Park special is how it frames the mountain. There is a famous pathway called the **"Flowers Road,"** which is lined with various seasonal plants. When I visited, the flowers were in full bloom, creating a colorful foreground against the deep blue of the lake and the majestic, snow-capped peak of Fuji in the background. It felt like walking through a living postcard. ### What to Do There Aside from photography, the park is a great place to relax. I highly recommend: * **Trying the Soft Serve Ice Cream:** They are famous for their blueberry-flavored soft serve, made from berries grown locally. It’s delicious and very refreshing. * **Shopping for Souvenirs:** The Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center is located right at the park. It’s the perfect place to pick up unique Fuji-themed gifts and local jams. * **Strolling the Boardwalk:** The walk along the lake is peaceful and easy, making it accessible for everyone. ### Travel Tips To get the best experience, try to arrive **early in the morning**. Mount Fuji is often "shy" and can be covered by clouds later in the day. Also, the park is free to enter, which is a wonderful bonus for budget travelers. Overall, Oishi Park provides a sense of peace that is hard to find in the busy streets of Tokyo. Whether you are a professional photographer or just someone who loves nature, the view of Mount Fuji from here will stay in your memory forever. It is truly a magical place where nature's beauty is on full display.
Visited Oishi Park near Fujikawaguchiko, and it was such a peaceful experience. Seeing Mount Fuji with the lake right in front was absolutely beautiful. The view feels straight out of a postcard — calm water, fresh air, and the majestic mountain in the background. The park itself is well maintained and perfect for a relaxed walk or a quiet picnic. It’s a lovely spot to slow down, sit, and just absorb the scenery. Overall, a beautiful and serene place to enjoy nature and take in one of Japan’s most iconic views.
