A distinctive feature is a miniature horse named "Hanako" that has been cared for within the shrine precincts since 2007. Oishi Shrine is located in the Yamashina district, east of central Kyoto. The most convenient access is a 3-minute walk from the bus stop "Oishi Jinja-mae". The shrine provides 15 parking spaces on site for those driving, though note that parking is unavailable on December 14 during the Gishi Festival.
