Oki Beach, Tosashimizu

Oki Beach is a striking coastal destination located in Tosashimizu City, Kochi Prefecture, on the southern tip of Shikoku Island. The beach stretches 1.6 kilometers along a gentle curve, where green forests meet white sandy shores and the powerful waves of the Pacific Ocean create a dramatic natural spectacle. The area remains remarkably undeveloped, with no buildings obstructing the pristine coastal views.

The beach serves as a critical spawning ground for endangered loggerhead sea turtles, making it an ecologically significant site along Japan's southern coast. Access to Oki Beach requires approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by car from Shimantocho-Chuo Interchange, 2 hours 30 minutes from Kochi Ryoma Airport, or 2 hours 25 minutes from Kochi New Port. Public transport users can reach the beach via Kochi Seinan Kotsu Bus, alighting at either Okinohama or Hamagaki stops, which are situated directly adjacent to the beach. The site offers 63 parking spaces and maintains free admission year-round with no closures.
