What other travelers are saying about Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan
This aquarium is quite an interesting place, with its core exhibit being viewable from a variety of angles on several floors. It was quite nice to see a variety of sea animals all together under the same exhibit.
If you're an animal lover, especially sea animals, this place is highly recommended.
We bought tickets in advance to guarantee ourselves admission at 4PM. Ultimately, we would've gotten in nonetheless, as there wasn't much of a lineup, but the peace of mind was worth it.
One of the better aquariums I've been to. Excellent, clean, well sized exhibits with descriptions in English as well as Japanese. The layout and well marked pathway of the aquarium make the experience fun and let's you see the many layers of the aquatic environment. We thought the price was worth it at around $18us. And we had 15 inch (38cm) hot dogs for lunch in their cafe inside the aquarium which were reasonably priced and sat looking overlooking the harbor while we ate.
An impressive aquarium. Most tanks had plenty of space, but some exhibits could do with being bigger. A vast range of amazing species on show here, and the whale sharks were stunning. It takes about an hour or so to complete, but take time to stop and look at the amazing marine animals here.
We love this aquarium, so much to see and experience. Suggest to buy tickets in advance if you’re traveling in big groups during the peak season. Entrance entering is fast but the ticketing line can be long awaiting on peak period. The aquarium is organized based on the creatures region and its continents. The deep sea creatures is well viewed in its aquarium and they are active. The birds and mammals are healthy and adorable. Worth a visit to experience them.
Probably the most amazing thing to do in Osaka. Spend the day here and don’t forget to bring your Stamp Book and collect all the stamps around the aquarium. Definitely see the jellyfish exhibit, seals, penguins and the corals. The best thing here though is undoubtedly the whale sharks. Incredible!
