Oshinari Park

Oshinari Park is a waterfront linear park in Sumida-ku, Tokyo, situated directly in front of Tokyo Skytree Town. The park was developed alongside the construction of the Tokyo Sky Tree district, following the "Kitajuma River Waterfront Space Utilization Concept" established by Sumida City. The park stretches approximately 450 meters between Tobu Bridge and Keisei Bridge, creating a green corridor along the waterway that connects to the Sumida River.

The park's primary appeal lies in its unique combination of urban waterfront access and unobstructed views of Tokyo Skytree, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. The park features multiple varieties of sakura trees that bloom at different times, extending the cherry blossom viewing season beyond the typical peak period in spring. This makes it an attractive destination for visitors who miss the main hanami rush. The waterside setting includes promenades, benches, and plantings designed for leisurely walks and relaxation. At night, the park is illuminated with fountains on both banks and lighting on Oshinari Bridge, creating atmospheric views alongside the lit Tokyo Skytree and Solamachi shopping complex.

Visitors can expect a tranquil environment despite the park's proximity to major tourist attractions. The narrow waterway features visible fish and occasional anglers, while the open spaces accommodate various activities including photography, picnicking, and casual strolls. The park serves primarily as a pedestrian thoroughfare and viewing platform rather than a traditional recreational park with playgrounds or sports facilities.

The nearest station is Oshiage Station, accessible via the Toei Asakusa Line, followed by approximately a 10-minute walk. Alternatively, visitors can reach the park from Asakusa Station by walking toward Tokyo Skytree. Admission to the park is free and it remains open to the public year-round. The location directly across from Tokyo Solamachi makes it an easy addition to any Skytree district itinerary.
