Sesoko Island is a small tropical island located in Motobu, Okinawa Prefecture, accessible via the 762-meter-long Sesoko Bridge that connects it to Okinawa's main island. The island measures approximately 8 kilometers in circumference and features a central village surrounded by farmland on its periphery. By the 15th century, Sesoko was part of the historic Ryukyu Kingdom, contributing to Okinawa's rich cultural heritage.

The island's primary attraction is Sesoko Beach, an 800-meter stretch of white sand located on the western coast that ranks among Okinawa's most popular beaches. The beach features crystal-clear turquoise waters with coral reefs accessible on foot at low tide, located approximately 500 meters offshore. Sesoko Beach is renowned as a sunset viewing spot, offering spectacular views of the surrounding islands including Ie Island and Minna Island.

Visitors can enjoy various marine activities including snorkeling, diving, banana boat rides, and Sea Walker underwater tours. The high water transparency makes it ideal for exploring the underwater world. The beach provides facilities including restrooms, equipment rentals, and marine activity operators. Near the beach, visitors can explore traditional Okinawan burial tombs that showcase the island's cultural history.

Sesoko Island is located approximately 2 hours by car from Naha Airport. Take the Okinawa Expressway to Kyoda IC, then follow Route 58 toward Motobu Town and cross the Sesoko Bridge. Public transportation users can take buses to the nearest stop and either walk across the bridge or take a taxi, though bus schedules should be checked in advance due to infrequent service. The island serves as an excellent base for exploring northern Okinawa attractions, with the Churaumi Aquarium and other major sites located nearby. Entry to the island is free, though individual beach facilities and activities may charge separate fees.

Fantastic viewing angles and beach. The beach has a lot of red ants the further up you go though. Wonderful hidden cave at the end of it

Cute island to have a day trip and explore. There is a town map for walking to all the memorials. We parked and walked to the other end. It's got beautiful views looking back onto the mainland. There are many cafes to grab bites to eat. In the summer there are rental places for any water sport. Parking was free in the off season as places were closed. There is a fee to park during the season when the rental places are opened.
This gonna be your ultimate get away in this island. Peace and scene that's what it's all about.
