Was there in 2022. It was nice back then, lots of locals having drinks.
Came back in 2026 and I am disappointed. Apparently foreigners found the place and everybody has an English menu, food became poor and bad quality and started to be more focused on drinking rather than food.
Some owners of small Izakayas would smoke in front of you without asking while you're eating. In a very small room.
Japanese stopped going because of the amount of tourists randomly going to drink there and packing all the tiny bars.

Went here in 2020, and was bitterly disappointed upon returning this year, to find it’s a fraction of size.
A lot of it has been redeveloped, so most of the atmosphere and character has gone.
We did however have some saki in one of the remaining places , and met some interesting people, so that was a bonus.

As we got at Nonbei Yokocho early we have no problems to find a seat in one of those tiny and chaming izakayas.
If you are looking for a homey atmosphere this is the right place.
