The exhibit was not crowded in February 2026. We went in the morning. Its a short walk from Utazu station, with a mall and plenty of food spots in between. It was chilly in the morning because of the sea.
That said, it is a given that if you visit any museum or aquarium exhibiting animals out of their natural habitat, there's going to be some measure of cruelty.
The saddest exhibit for me was the one with the deep sea crabs. The poor animals come to shallow waters to mate and then presumably were captured for our viewing pleasure. I dont know if they can see us, probably not but their eyes looked so dead.
So because you know this, don't come at all. Don't enter another zoo or aquarium in your life. I came today for someone else.
Some of the exhibits were sad, like the lone animals - the otter and the lobster. Seal enclosure was so small. The penguins looked traumatised. In no universe should animals be caged for us humans. I understand some of them may have been born in captivity but this is just my two cents
That said, this aquarium does things better than others. Lots of the exhibits had ample space. The animals looked cared for. Their enclosures and exhibits were pristine. The staff were hard at work. The whole place is spick and span. Even the toilets.
As for the predicament of the animals, instead of just leaving a bad review, maybe petition the local municipalities to improve it. As long as humans exist, animals are always going to suffer unfortunately.
I do have one comment for the exhibits. The accompanying guides were beautifully illustrated, but the QR codes for more information are inadequate. Maybe they can be updated
Oh very cool. I saw a fish there 🐟. The dolphins we're cool and the animals are good ambassadors for children to learn about sea plants and animals
Truly meditative experience to be there among the sea life. It makes you question your own place in this wonderful world. I wish they could ban all loud kids from this place.
The largest aquarium in Shikoku
Many sea animals ! Especially u can find otter here.
U can buy the ticket easily at the entrance, no need to book online.
TBH, the ticket price is a bit expensive.
Better check the show schedule before u plan your visit. Since it is not possible to stay in the aquarium whole day to watch all the show.
Re-entry is allowed, remember to stamp the stamp provided right next to the exit gate if u would like to go back.
Many souvenirs in the shop, u can buy different types of special edition souvenirs there.
We love aquariums, so we had to visit this place since it’s said to be the largest aquarium in the area. Most people recommend spending about 2 hours here, which feels just right. We spent 3 hours here. What stood out the most to us was the dolphin show—it was the most gentle performance we’ve ever seen. You’ll understand what I mean when you see it for yourself!
By the way, this aquarium consists the most beautiful animal drawing ever!!! my video is longer than 30 seconds which means there are more drawings in the aquarium. You should come and see them yourself!
