It was closed as of 30th of April due to renewal construction.
There was no information of closure anywhere around the aquarium. We saw the actual construction and a small board saying it's closed till 2027.
An aquarium built on top of a mountain seems like a strange choice for aquatic life, but it seems this place was built a while ago, so it is a little dated. I saw workers maintaining and keeping places clean, but I do have to agree with other reviews that said there were quite a few exhibits that were definitely too small for the animals. That being the case, they did have some interesting exhibits like jelly fish polyps, as I have never seen them in person before.
I wish I had read the comments before going, and at the same time I'm glad I got to witness this with my own eyes. I visited many aquariums all around the world and I had never seen anything like this. The tanks are way too small, dirty. The animals are in great distress. I am surprised there is no regulations and if there are some, this place should close down and the animals moved to a better, decent place. It's really disturbing.
Amazing aquarium. You get to do a lot of things not possible at the bigger ones such as feeding the seals, otters and turtles. Nice collection of smaller aquariums. Staff are super friendly too
Now, they have a new bigger tank for dolphins and also spacious space for penguins. They renovated some areas apparently, plus they have many feeding animals events every day Staff are nice and dolphin show was fun maybe I should call the dolphin show a funny samurai-man show lol anyway the show was unique and my kids enjoyed it. Thank you
