One thing I really liked was that it was not too crowded and there were not many tourists, which made the experience more enjoyable.
There is also a free shuttle from Katsuyama Station, which was very convenient. The rental prices for the ski equipment were also quite affordable, so overall it felt very worth it.
Overall, it was a nice place to ski, especially if you want a more relaxed experience without too much crowd.
Came here on 4th - 5th March, wanted to visit this ski resort for some time and check out the place. The snow conditions by now is not great at the lower slopes and most were closed due to the lack of snow while the mid-mountain is somewhat okay.
The resort has quite a fair share of speed bombers (skiers and snowboarders alike) down the mountain and all you need is one out of control individual without basic slope etitique to ruin a holiday. A skier full-on crashed into me while speeding down the slopes even though I have kept to the side and the slopes was relatively empty.
There wasn't any assistance after the accident. The service attitude at the base was poor as well. The incident effectively ended the season for me.
There is also a flat 1000 JPY charge (listed as a "snow removal fee") for driving and parking here regardless of weekday or weekend. If you don't drive, there are buses from Fukui to and fro the ski resort.
I have driven from Kanazawa. The nearest airport would be Komatsu Airport, however the public buses around Komatsu and Kanazawa there don't accept ski and snowboard bags regardless of size even if it is just one pair of skis with poles and insisted on taxis to Komatsu or Kanazawa.
The above minor inconveniences adds up if you are not driving or send your stuff over a few days ahead of time. Taking that into consideration, I won't recommend this resort for families with their own gear who concern about safety of their children and themselves.
very near to dinosaur museum ,worth a visit.special zones forkids to practice ski and sledge . playzone in snow for small kids ,lot of parking area with music.although u only get ski shoes and not snow shoes for rent.all snow gear’s equipment clothes available for rent,food zones are quite big and staff also quite informative about food choosing and allergy options.u get lot of yummy food too.kids can enjoy entire day .
A fantastic skiing destination with the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. After a day or two on the slopes, unwind in the soothing hot springs to relax your muscles. The food is excellent, with buffet options available, and the staff are warm and welcoming.
The resort offers ski rentals, souvenir shops, and snack stalls, including ice cream for those with a sweet tooth. There’s also a baby room (can use for prayer room for Muslims), plenty of lockers, and separate changing areas for both men and women. The facilities, including restrooms, are clean and well-maintained.
This spot has a laid-back atmosphere, popular among locals, with fewer international tourists, making it a great place to immerse yourself in the culture. The resident DJ plays modern hits, adding a fun and lively vibe.
