What other travelers are saying about Snow Peak Okuhita, Hita
Good camping site with great views. Prices start at 1620 (1site for 1tent, 1 car and up to 6 people included). Sites A & B (free camping, electricity at additional charge) are more isolated and and calmer. They accept credit cards and have a Snow peak gear shop. Overally the place looks new and well kept. The downsides are the noise and the light pollution (especially around the main entrance). The place has some cabins and houses to rent and seemed to be popular with lots of groups in the weekend. Probably worth coming in a week day if you want to relax without the noise around.
Snow Peak Okuhita offers multiple camping options to suit different preferences. The site provides spacious areas for setting up tents, with some sites offering power sources and great views. Visitors can choose from free sites for basic camping, sectioned auto sites with electrical hookups for RVs and cars, or premium hilltop locations that offer panoramic mountain vistas. The campground maintains the high-quality standards associated with the Snow Peak brand throughout all its facilities.
Snow Peak Okuhita provides rental equipment and services for visitors who prefer a hands-free camping experience. The facility offers tent and barbecue equipment rentals, making it accessible for those who don't own camping gear or prefer not to transport equipment. The campground offers programs where you can participate safely even if you don't have a tent or camping experience. However, you're also welcome to bring your own equipment if you prefer.
Snow Peak Okuhita offers cool summers and freezing winters due to its high altitude. Located at 950 meters elevation, the campground provides a refreshing escape during Japan's hot summer months, making summer an ideal time for comfortable camping. The highland location offers fresh mountain air and excellent stargazing conditions year-round. Winter camping is possible but requires appropriate cold-weather gear due to the freezing temperatures at this elevation.
The campground features well-maintained facilities including bathroom facilities with separate rooms for men and women. The highland's fresh air and gorgeous starry sky are the perks of staying at this campground located at an elevation of 950 meters. The site offers various camping areas with different amenities, including sites with electrical power sources. As a Snow Peak-operated facility, the campground maintains high standards for cleanliness and functionality, though some facilities may occasionally require maintenance during busy periods.
This is a fantastic campground. Great service, they sell beer in the little store (if it's open), there is water and toilets.
And it is deep in the mountains. NOBODY around. So nice for feeling like you are out in nature. Also good for star gazing.
There is a Snow Peak store here now! Awesome!
I happened to go on a snowy day. Just looking at Snow Peak's products makes me happy!!
The store staff were also very friendly and helpful.
I'm glad I was able to get the discontinued Yamame Sierra Cup👍
I used it on a Saturday.
The campsite itself is well-maintained and the prices are family-friendly.
I was unable to use the site I reserved due to a double booking, and the response was poor.
Since it's a large company, I get the impression they're inflexible.
It was clearly the campsite's fault.
