What other travelers are saying about Tobu World Square
I really enjoyed visiting here for the first time. It’s a different kind of trip when you would like to see famous miniatures from different countries. I was amazed by how they did those miniatures so interesting and incredible. Just bring umbrella for when it is too hot they don’t have much shades there. But they have few restaurants inside and outside the area. With Family and friends can enjoy!
We visited Tobu World Square in July 2025. The ticket price is 2800円, but if you have the Nikko Pass, you can get a discount of 1000円. It is expensive, but I think the price is worthwhile. It took us about 3 hours to visit the park, but we had to rush a little at the end through the Asia and traditional Japan sections. I learned that the ticket is all day, so you can visit in the morning and then come back after dark to see the illuminations.
The park showcases famous places from around the world, including Japan, all at 1/25 scale, which makes it easy to compare them. There are over 140,000 miniature people, with some hidden famous characters or movie scenes. For me, the most stunning part of the exhibits are the roughly 20,000 bonsai trees which change with the seasons.
If you visit in the summer, please note there is little tree cover, so bring an umbrella and other sun protection. There are taps to fill up a water bottle.
There are coin lockers before and after the ticket gates.
At the entrance of the exhibits there is a sphere which plays music with animatronic characters every 10, 30, and 50 minutes after the hour, it’s very cute. Some exhibits require a 100円 coin to play an optional animation.
There are snack counters, small restaurants, and souvenir shops on site. I loved being able to buy foreign alcohol such as German beer or French cidre. It is very dog friendly with strollers that can be rented, places to wash your dog, or little podiums for photos. We don’t have a dog, but all the dogs made the experience even more fun!
Ticket slightly pricey. The attractions are cool and good for taking pictures. There were not a lot of people when I went. The models feel realistic, especially when taken at a right angle with a camera.
The models are not updated, and maybe more counties attraction can be added.
Very nice visit just after Christmas. It snowed some and was about -1C so we were very grateful for the frequent enclosed rest areas with heaters. I assume they have air conditioning in the summer.
We spent much longer here than anticipated, and went through a whole camera battery and then some. We stayed for about 3 hours.
Many of the exhibits were very nice, but some were very worn out. Everything was still very enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed that many exhibits had moving parts or special effects that could be activated with a ¥100 coin. There were moving boats, planes, cars, and little people!
The audio tour was not particularly special. There were a few fun details though, and I still enjoyed it as it was only ¥500. Most frustrating was that some exhibits were missing the numbered signage needed to play the correct audio guide track. Most of the audio tour consisted of reading what was on the sign, and adding a few informational tidbits about the actual place the model was based on. I liked that it read the sign, so I didn’t need to stand in one spot to read it myself. It was very cold so I wanted to start moving.
I really liked visiting, well worth the trip!
I enjoyed this so much. Miniature places all over the world with so much details. I thoroughly enjoyed that there was also miniature population and amazing articulated features of the locations as well. You could easily spend the day here. I believed we spent 2.5 hours and really enjoyed the park. Good for children adults and pet friendly!
