What other travelers are saying about Uzu no Oka Onaruto Bridge Memorial Museum
20250324 A small stop but I love this place probably because I like onion! Got great view, a few nice onions to take photo with and a lot of onion goods to buy. It was our third stop with these kind of goods but it was the biggest.
The museum operates daily from 9 AM to 5 PM. However, it is closed on Tuesdays, though it remains open when the regular closing day falls on a national holiday. The facility also closes for maintenance for three days in mid-December and on December 31 and January 1 every year.
Pets are not allowed inside the museum building. However, the outdoor areas including the giant onion sculpture "Oh Onion" can typically be accessed even when the facility is closed, as it is located outdoors, so you may be able to visit these exterior areas with pets during those times.
Yes, the entire building is barrier-free and wheelchair accessible. The facility also includes wheelchair-accessible restrooms, making it comfortable for visitors with mobility needs.
Even if you don't win at the onion catcher game, you will still receive onions. The game costs 500 yen for five attempts, and all participants leave with Awaji Island's specialty onions regardless of their game performance.
The museum features two dining options. The second floor houses a restaurant with beautiful views where you can see the Onaruto Bridge and enjoy dishes made with fresh ingredients from Awaji Island. On the first floor, you'll find Awajishima Onion Kitchen, which serves the Awajishima Onion Beef Burger and Awajishima Onion Gratin Burger, both priced at 850 yen. These burgers won first and second place respectively in the National Gotochi Burger Grand Prix.
If you drive and have enough time then can consider to come here. It is very far and at the end of the awaji island. View is good but no need to purposely come here. Many local visited here and queued for the overpriced onion burger. Many cars over the weekend and jam to enter the car park

A must-visit on Awaji Island with spectacular views of Shikoku and several giant onions as photo ops. So many quirky onion goods to buy as souvenirs!
A must if you are in Awajishima.
The view on Shikoku is beautiful and the restaurant on the 2nd floor is very good with a very nice view (I advise you to directly go there and register yourself, you can then follow the waiting time on your phone). As for the activities, it is mainly just pictures and a nice crane game that cost 500yen, which you will still receive onion whether yo win or not.
I STRONGLY advise you to go there at the opening as it is just too crowded starting 10:00.
