What other travelers are saying about Yodobashi Akiba
Definitely the biggest store in this area where you can find consumer goods, clothing or other stuffs in relatively affordable prices. Staffs are so helpful and enthusiastic although they don’t understand English sometimes. Shops are well-organized, good decorations and have safe, welcoming atmosphere. A great place to go shooping.
I'm a film photographer and came here to buy 35mm film. Yodobashi Akiba had both Japan-exclusive films I was looking for, Fujifilm Superia 400 and Fujicolor 100. They also had Provia 100F and Velvia 100, two films that can be a bit difficult to find outside of Japan.
When I checked out, the staff informed me that although I could only buy one roll of Superia Premium 400 if I was checking out tax-free (as a foreign tourist), I could buy more than one if I didn't do tax-free. Given that, I was able to buy 3 rolls of it and just didn't do a tax-free purchase.
Amazing experience and very happy with the plentiful stock of films here. I would 100% recommend for film lovers looking for Fujifilm.
Edit: I came again on a different date and was told by a different staff member that I could only buy 2 rolls of Superia Premium 400 this time. Not sure why the policy is inconsistent across visits, but was still able to buy the film I wanted.
Incredible enormous 9 floor store. You can find from a paper clip and everything o everything. Washer dryer a/c pc camera luggage clothes pens tv. Shoes wayches, everything and a floor full of restaurants.
Great store, it’s a one minute walk from the Akihabara station (just across the road). Each level has an expansive selection of items of different categories, perfect to keep you busy for the entire afternoon. Highly recommended store to visit for all the tech enthusiasts.
Visited Yodobashi Akiba 3-4 times during my Tokyo trip and basically ended up emptying my wallet, the tech selection here is impressive! But the real standout was the camera section staff. They weren’t just sell cameras; they enlightened me on everything about it with incredible patience and expertise. Left feeling knowledgeable and broke. Hahahaha
