Frequently asked questions
teamLab Planets is not just a museum; it's a groundbreaking immersive art experience located in Tokyo. It's where digital artworks seamlessly intertwine with natural elements, offering visitors a chance to step into a dreamlike world that stimulates all senses.
The duration varies based on individual preferences. Most visitors typically allocate 2-4 hours, allowing them to engage deeply with the installations. However, to truly immerse oneself and even enjoy some of the art-filled dining spaces, it's entirely possible to spend half to a full day.
Absolutely! Children, especially those with curious minds, find the interactive and visually rich environment captivating. While those under 4 years enter for free, children under 13 need to be in the company of an adult.
Since you'll be exploring barefoot, comfort should be paramount. Some areas have water elements, so attire that can handle occasional splashes is ideal. For children, a change of clothes might be a good idea just in case they fully embrace the water installations.
teamLab Planets prides itself on being inclusive. While wheelchair users can navigate most of the venue, there are designated routes for areas that might be challenging due to water elements or other obstructions.
To ensure that visitors can move freely, teamLab Planets offers free locker facilities. It's vital to note the locker dimensions, as very large items might need special arrangements in a separate area.
Due to its immense popularity and the desire to offer every visitor an unhindered experience, advance booking is highly recommended. During peak seasons and special holidays, tickets can sell out rapidly, so early booking ensures you don't miss out.

This is a must see in Tokyo. Although there was a long queue, even on our timed ticket, it moved quickly. Once inside there are lockers for your bags and shoes. Leave everything behind except your camera.
You walk through 5 different areas, some with water up to your knees, or are encouraged to lie down on the floor so wear shorts if you can ( I did see plenty of people in dresses/skirts with them tucked in underwear!! ) Towels are provided after each ‘wet’ area.
Each section was quite different with interactive stuff so make the most of your visit and engage in everything…….its a lot of fun.

Loved the experience!
We (2 parents and a teenaged son) had a fantastic couple of hours exploring. The entry and process was well organized and never felt too crowded. We didn’t know exactly what we were getting into but just kept hearing it’s a ‘must see’ so we did!
