She was knowledgeable about Gion and the geisha. She took us around several neighborhoods in Gion and to the Asuka Temple. During our tour she entertained us with stories and history of the neighborhoods. We even passed 3 geishas. I highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Shaan as your tour guide you will have a great time and a unique experience.

Carbonara Udon
I go to Kyoto for temple tours on weekdays.
I went to a popular udon restaurant a little southwest of Shijo Kawaramachi Station for an early dinner.
It was before opening time, but the people waiting for it...
When I lined up, I found that by the time I got in, it was pretty much in line.
