Gibier is a French word used in Japan to refer to dishes made with wild game meat. Here, it means a full-course meal prepared by the host using wild boar they personally hunted, together with organic locally sourced vegetables.

Is the slaughter demonstration graphic?

You will get a close, full view of the wild boar butchering process, which is an honest look at where food comes from. It is presented with a respectful attitude as part of understanding what it means to receive life.

Nagamitsu Shoko worked as an office worker in Osaka before moving to Setoda, buying land, and obtaining a hunting license. She now works as a hunter, runs a catering service, and teaches others about living a purposeful life. This tour is both the story of the island and her story.
