One of the highlights of our trip to Japan! It was great to visit all the famous parks and gardens beautifully manicured and the many applications of bonsai to the plants in the gardens. Visiting this bonsai museum was so impressive with the hundreds of examples of different plants. As we are from Australia, we could not take our workshop specimens home but it was great to have a 'hands-on' experience to understand the principles, tools and materials. A must for any beginner bonsai admirer!

Our family of four took this hour-long class and it was very informative and enjoyable. We each "wired" junipers and learned how to manipulate them in an artistic way. The teachers were very knowledgeable and patient with us, helping guide us through the class. It was well done.

Bonsai appreciation

In this tour, you will experience making your own Bonsai with a Bonsai master in Tokyo. Also part of this tour is a talk on the history of Bonsai and a guided tour of the Bonsai gallery. Admission included.

The Bonsai-making lesson includes personalized guidance from a professional Bonsai artist, all necessary materials for crafting your own Bonsai, and an assistant for translation if you select that option.
The tour venue is stroller/pram accessible but unfortunately does not accommodate wheelchairs. Please let us know in advance if you have any specific needs.
Yes, you can take your Bonsai home. However, please note that international regulations may restrict the transport of sand and plants. Shipping arrangements can be made at an additional cost.
A cancellation fee of 100% is charged if canceled 1 day or less before the event. If cancelled 1000 days or less (excluding the final day) before the event, no cancellation fee is applied.
Food and drinks are not included in the tour package. You are welcome to bring your own, or there may be places nearby to purchase refreshments.
Unfortunately, the tour is unsuitable for pets and not permitted at the venue.
Infants are welcome but must be seated on an adult's lap, as infant seats are unavailable. Please consider the tour's suitability for children based on its content and length.
