Workshop Agenda

Arrival at the Workshop

Meet us at our store, conveniently located on Asakusa Kannon Street. Please arrive a few minutes early to settle in before the workshop begins. You'll be welcomed by our friendly staff and introduced to the process.

Duration: 10 minutes

Wearing Traditional "Samue"

Once settled, you’ll be provided with traditional Japanese workwear called "samue." This adds a special cultural touch to your experience, allowing you to feel like a true artisan.

Duration: 5 minutes

Introduction to Papermaking

The session starts with a brief introduction about Tosa Washi, one of Japan's most revered papermaking traditions. You’ll get to know the craft’s long history and the techniques used over the centuries.

Duration: 10 minutes

Papermaking Workshop

Under the guidance of a skilled instructor, you will create your very own washi paper. You can choose to make either one A3-sized sheet or four postcard-sized sheets. Enjoy the hands-on experience while crafting something uniquely yours.

Duration: 30 minutes

Optional Colored Paper Experience

For those interested, there is an optional upgrade to make colored paper. This can be selected and paid for at the store.

Take Home Your Handmade Washi Paper

After completing your creation, you’ll have a chance to admire your work and take it home as a special souvenir. A wonderful keepsake from your time in Asakusa.
