Viaje a Ehime

Última actualización 5 mar 2026

Ehime is a place of history, nature, and relaxing hot springs. Visit Matsuyama Castle, one of Japan’s best-preserved castles, and soak in Dogo Onsen, one of the country’s oldest hot springs. Ride a bike along the Shimanami Kaido, a scenic road across small islands. Explore the historic towns of Ozu and Uchiko, known for their old streets and buildings. Try local foods like mikan oranges and Jakoten, a fried fish cake.

    Preguntas frecuentes

Ehime is famous for Matsuyama Castle, Dogo Onsen (one of Japan’s oldest hot springs), and the Shimanami Kaido, a scenic cycling route across islands. It is also known for mikan oranges and Jakoten, a local fish cake.

You can fly from Tokyo to Matsuyama Airport in about 1.5 hours. From Osaka, take the Shinkansen to Okayama, then a train or ferry to Matsuyama. Highway buses and ferries also connect Ehime to nearby cities.

Top places to visit include Matsuyama Castle, Dogo Onsen, Ozu and Uchiko historic towns, and the Shimanami Kaido cycling route. Iyo-Nada Coast and Mt. Ishizuchi, the highest mountain in western Japan, are also worth a visit.

Yes, but it takes about 6–8 hours to complete the full 70 km route. You can also cycle a shorter section and take a ferry back. Rental bikes are available at multiple locations.

A day trip from Hiroshima or Okayama is possible, but staying at least one night is better to enjoy Dogo Onsen, Matsuyama Castle, and the Shimanami Kaido at a relaxed pace.
