Sapporo Satoland

Sapporo Satoland is an agricultural theme park located in Higashi Ward of Sapporo City, Hokkaido, established to showcase Hokkaido's farming heritage. The park occupies approximately 74.3 hectares of former working farmland. The facility preserves historical farm buildings and maintains active agricultural operations connecting urban life with Hokkaido's agricultural roots.

The park demonstrates Hokkaido's agricultural practices and rural heritage from the Meiji era (1868-1912) when farming formed the region's economic foundation. The facility includes preserved historical buildings showing traditional Hokkaido farmhouse architecture. The park grows crops including vegetables, flowers, and grains following seasonal cycles. Livestock areas house sheep, goats, horses, and other farm animals.

Visitors participate in seasonal agricultural activities including vegetable harvesting, rice planting, and fruit picking. The park offers hands-on experiences such as butter-making, ice cream production, and bread baking. Visitors interact with farm animals in petting areas. Walking and cycling paths traverse the property with bicycle rentals available. A children's playground and large lawn area are available. The park operates a direct sales shop selling fresh vegetables, dairy products, and processed goods. A restaurant serves locally-sourced dishes. Seasonal events include flower viewing, harvest festivals, and winter activities.

Access Sapporo Satoland from central Sapporo via the Toho Subway Line to Kanjodori-Higashi Station, followed by a 25-minute bus ride on routes heading toward Satoland. From Sapporo Station, the journey requires transferring subway lines and taking the bus, totaling approximately 50 minutes. By car, the park is located roughly 15 kilometers east of central Sapporo, accessible via major roads with parking available for 1,500 vehicles.
