What other travelers are saying about Dakesawa Marshland

If you’re looking for a peaceful and scenic walking route in Kamikochi, Dakesawa Marsh is a great choice. The trail runs along the right side of the Azusa River, taking roughly 1.5 hours to walk from Myojin Bridge back to Kappa Bridge. What makes it special is the pure natural atmosphere — quiet, refreshing, and especially beautiful during autumn when the leaves turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow. The air can be quite chilly (sometimes even cold), but it’s perfect for a relaxing walk surrounded by mountains, rivers, and colorful forests. A highly recommended route if you want to enjoy Kamikochi’s nature at your own pace, away from the crowds.

Beautiful view point and walking trail surrounding in general. The northern trail to Myojin bridge is longer than the southern trail because of the additional distance to walk through this marsh area but definitely worth the extra distance. Running water sound from the river makes the trail even more enjoyable. Because of the marsh, there are more plank walking vs walking on the ground in the southern trail.

Enjoyed the hike, the birds Chirping, the sound of the running stream. The trees and the ions of the area. lol took longer time than others to complete due to arthritis on both knees. But still it is worth it. Note last bus timing.
