Dynaland is located in the northern area of Gujo city in the central region of Gifu Prefecture, positioned on the eastern slopes of Mt Dainichi, part of the Ryohaku mountain range. The resort has been operating since 1972, establishing itself as one of western Japan's premier winter destinations. It is lift and course-connected with the Takasu Snow Park resort and a shared lift ticket is available, creating an expansive skiing area known as "Dantotsu."

The resort's significance lies in its scale and accessibility. Dynaland boasts a total of 18 courses that cater to all skill levels, from gentle slopes suitable for beginners to challenging tree skiing areas for advanced enthusiasts. The longest run extends 3,200 meters, offering sustained downhill experiences. The resort operates at elevations between 984 and 1,431 meters, with 6 lifts transporting guests efficiently across the mountain. What distinguishes Dynaland is its extended operating hours, with night skiing available until 11pm every day during the winter season and early morning operations starting at 5am on weekends and holidays.

Visitors can experience diverse winter activities beyond standard skiing and snowboarding. The family-friendly Baboon area includes dedicated sledding slopes with moving walkways and indoor play facilities. The resort maintains specialized snowboard parks with half-pipes, rails, and jumps that attract both beginners and skilled riders. A day-care center is available for children who cannot ski yet, staffed by professionals who can supervise infants through older children. Equipment rental services provide complete packages including skis, snowboards, boots, clothing, and accessories. The directly managed hotel Villa Mont Saint is located just 5 minutes on foot from the slopes, offering convenient accommodation.

The resort is approximately 1.5 hours by car from Nagoya, making it a popular destination for visitors from the Kansai region including Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya. By car, the resort is 10 minutes from Takasu IC of Tokai Hokuriku Expressway. Direct tour buses operate daily from JR Nagoya Station, departing around 7:50am and returning around 5:10pm. For those using public transportation, the route involves taking the train to Mino-shirotori station, then connecting via Shirotori Kotsu Bus to the Dainichidake bus stop, followed by a free shuttle bus to the resort. A one-day lift ticket costs approximately 4,500 yen for Dynaland, while the combined Takasu and Dynaland pass provides access to both connected resorts.

Traveler reviews

Parking is 1000yen weekday (weekend may very). We learned that it is half price on Wednesday so suddenly change our plan to come here =D We stay nearby for 4 days. There are at least 4 ski places within 20-30 min, so we get to explore different skiing places! Dynaland compound has an accommodation of some sort within the area, we didn’t stay there tho. Walking distance to Dynaland ski or less than 3 min drive. The route up to the mountain may be uneasy ; takes 2 or more turns (comparing to Takasu snow park only 1 turn and you go straight up), but still easy as long as you follow Gmaps. Drop off available (tell them you only dropping off and will return back then no need to pay parking) My internet research told me Dynaland is smaller than the others ; but the boys who went didn’t say the same. It is enough for beginners and mediate (however, my husband did say Takasu is wider so he’s less afraid to run into people) Ps: parking fees are all the same throughout the entire area with different snow parks

Lol I was planning to see Sakura flowers for this trip But instead this year is too cold We even can snow boarding at this time. So out of my plan But me and my kid had a great time here. Except we can’t go up to the mountains course we didn’t bring the snow staff But we still so happy to play snow at this time of the year
The resort was fun my son did a one to one snowboarding lesson and it’s was great. The instructor lady was very helpful, gentle and patient. But there is a problem my wife did a one to one ski lesson however she got injured during the lesson because she had a strained knee muscle. She said that the instructor is not that patient then she thought that the instructor think she can do it independently. After the fall she said that the instructor was not immediately helping. Here is the worst part the health patrol station only gave her a single ice pack.Just to inform you that please grooming your snow it’s kinda bumpy and my son fell on it a few times. Overall, only come to this place if you’re not scared of being injured and you’re confident in your own skills.

It’s our first time to ski resort. We were going to do 1.5 days end up we skied for 3 days We arrived and was 12 so we waited for afternoon session and then came back for evening. The next day we went full day and decide rest evening at hotel. Then we did another half day on 3rd day which included takasu park. Do watch out the evening most trails are close and only 1 lift open with 2 trials and red n blacks. Beginners can only do a small slop near rental area so might not be worth to buy life ticket. The rest of trails are very beginner and intermediate friendly especially if you practicing to upskill yourself before going to black.
Loved this huge ski resort! Dynaland and Takasu combined (with an additional fee) offer a fantastic experience. Worth it if you stay locally and use the shuttle buses. The kids' area is spacious with a magic carpet, making it great for families. Staff are friendly and speak English. Highly recommended!
