Haneda Innovation City

Haneda Innovation City opened in July 2020 as a large-scale commercial and business complex in Tokyo's Ota Ward, developed on the former Haneda Airport site. The facility covers 5.9 hectares with a total floor area of 130,000 square meters, comprising six interconnected futuristic buildings. Located just 1.2 kilometers from Haneda Airport Terminal 3, the complex serves as Japan's gateway where advanced technology and traditional Japanese culture converge.

The development represents a collaboration between nine major shareholding companies including Kajima Corporation, Keikyu Corporation, Japan Airport Terminal Co., East Japan Railway Company, and Tokyo Monorail. The site functions as both a testing ground for cutting-edge technology and a cultural showcase, housing research and development facilities where companies experiment with autonomous vehicles, robotics, healthcare innovations, and smart mobility solutions. The facility includes a hydrogen station, the Congress Square Haneda convention hall that accommodates up to 620 people, and terminal.0 where companies develop solutions for airport-related challenges.

Visitors can experience numerous attractions within the complex. The complimentary autonomous bus completes an eight-minute circuit around the premises, demonstrating self-driving technology firsthand. The free Ashiyu Sky Deck on the rooftop offers footbath facilities with panoramic views of aircraft operations at Haneda Airport. The complex features the Gurunavi Food Hall with robotic servers, restaurants specializing in local Ota City gyoza, and the Innovation Corridor lined with dining establishments exploring Japanese food culture. Entertainment options include the LUXURY FLIGHT fighter jet simulator and Zepp Haneda concert hall. The Artist Village provides outdoor green space with art installations and playground equipment, while Japanese garden elements incorporate seasonal sounds through flower lanterns.

The complex is directly connected to Tenkubashi Station on both the Keikyu Line and Tokyo Monorail, making it accessible from central Tokyo. Buses run from JR Omori Station East Exit and JR Kamata Station East Exit to the facility. For drivers, parking costs 150 yen per 30 minutes for up to seven hours, with a maximum daily fee of 2,100 yen. The first 30 minutes are free, with an additional 30-minute complimentary period available when making purchases at designated facilities. Admission to the complex itself is free, though individual attractions like the flight simulator and certain entertainment facilities charge separate fees.
