What other travelers are saying about Harbor View Park
Beautiful park! Some steps but easy to climb, and the park is very well maintained. It’s the end of October and there are lots of flowers namely many roses. The terrace overlooking the port is also enjoyable.
Quite a popular place, I saw there a lot of locals. There are no signs/explanations in English, though, only in Japanese, so Google Translate will be your friend.
The park features beautiful rose gardens, a historic British House, the Kanagawa Museum of Modern Literature, and several platforms offering panoramic views of Yokohama Bay and the surrounding cityscape.
Yes, the park hosts various events throughout the year, including rose festivals, open-air concerts, and seasonal flower displays. The British House often has exhibitions and cultural events as well.
While there are no full-service restaurants within the park, there are nearby cafes and eateries in the surrounding Yamate area. Visitors can also bring their own food and enjoy a picnic in the park.
The park is accessible by public transportation. Visitors can take the Minato Mirai Line to Motomachi-Chukagai Station, from which the park is a short walk. Buses and taxis also serve the area.
The park is beautiful year-round, but the best times to visit are during the spring and autumn when the flowers are in bloom and the weather is mild. Early morning and late afternoon provide the best light for photography and the most serene atmosphere.
Very nice park with an observation deck (platform?) of the harbor (regular port things with large warehouses rather than an aesthetic view). Bathroom available by the deck. Connects to an English rose garden and other small gardens. LOTS of butterflies, so pretty. Went on a Saturday afternoon, there were people but not too much that it felt crowded. Good amount of walking.
