The walk takes 50 to 60 minutes covering 1.2 kilometers through eight zones. The attraction is open to all ages, though the natural forest terrain includes rough ground and slippery areas requiring supervision for young children. Wheelchairs and strollers are permitted but may encounter difficulty on uneven surfaces.
KAMUY LUMINA operates rain or shine. Umbrellas are not permitted for safety reasons; bring a raincoat or purchase one at the ticket counter. The experience may be canceled only in severe weather conditions posing safety risks. Full refunds are provided for weather-related cancellations.
Wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for forest trails. Avoid high heels and sandals. Bring weather-appropriate clothing and a raincoat if needed. Rhythm staffs with LED lights are provided at the entrance. Photography is allowed but tripods, monopods, and drones are prohibited.
Advance reservations are strongly recommended as space is limited for each departure time. Walk-up tickets may be available at the ticket booth and hotels, but availability is not guaranteed. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Tickets show a specific departure time and are valid only for that time, though customer service may accommodate later times depending on availability.
Traveler reviews
Needs to have better translations and marks to make it easier for non-Japanese speakers to understand. The website to follow along was helpful but could be a little confusing. Overall the story was interesting and would recommend to many tourists. Come on weekdays when there are less people.
Event of every good design: safe and natural environment at night, music, graphic. The combination is so fresh with a good local story!
I would recommend this to all people.
Please read the background of the story before you enter the forest
Extremely magical experience!
I am not going to share many photos because I don’t want to spoil you. But you definitely should visit! It’s on the pricey side but I promise it’s worth every cent.
They have many advertisement in Akan town (and our hotel) but my partner and I are blind. 💀💀💀 I think it’s cheaper if you buy your tickets early and from your hotel. But we only chanced upon this while taking a night stroll and 15 minutes before the experience, it was 5,000 yen more expensive.
We visited here with our two year old son. He was super excited. I was truly impressed by how the lighting, unique terrain, and local culture were seamlessly combined with high technology. It created a stunning and unforgettable experience.
On Sept 2, 2024, my wife brought me here to experience the night show. Holding stick-like torches with synchronised sound-light effects, it was a new experience. In the dark, the narrative should be done bilingually.
