What other travelers are saying about Moerenuma Park
One of the best park in Sapporo. You can get the view of whole city from here. There is a prism shaped building there, it is free for you to go inside. Children have lots of area to play and people from any age group can enjoy there. I just loved the place.
Visited this park in Sapporo during the summer, and I have to say I was amazed by its sheer scale. The place is incredibly vast, so I’d recommend setting aside at least a full day to explore—anything less would feel like a waste. The variety here is impressive: from the glass house to the pyramid, installations, and wide open spaces, there’s so much to see and experience. The glass house can get a bit hot in summer, but overall this park is truly a gem in Sapporo and well worth visiting, even in the warmer months.
Nice place to spend 2-3 hours. A bit out of the way. Some of the park attractions were closed during my visit for example the water fountain probably due to seasonal change. The view from the top of the hill was breathtaking and the gentle wind swaying the tall grass was quite an experience.
Once a forgotten landfill, this space has been beautifully transformed into a sprawling green park—thanks to the creativity and vision of the people. Now, it's a beloved place where Sapporo’s residents come to stroll, play, and bask in the gentle warmth of the sun, surrounded by trees and open skies. It’s a quiet reminder of how imagination can turn even the most unlikely places into something truly special.
Great option for a little escape from the usual vibrant Sapporo. Great art, lot of space, not overcrowded. Easy to reach by bus, worth spending some hours or half a day there.
Key features include the Glass Pyramid "HIDAMARI," the Sea Fountain, Mount Moere, and various sculptures and playgrounds designed by Isamu Noguchi. The park's design integrates these elements into the natural landscape, offering a unique park experience.
Visitors can enjoy walking, cycling, picnicking, and playing in designated areas. Seasonal activities include sledding and cross-country skiing in winter and water activities near the fountains during summer.
The park is designed to be accessible, with pathways and facilities catering to visitors with disabilities. However, due to the park's vast area and varying terrain, it's recommended that you plan your visit according to accessibility needs.
Yes, visitors can rent bicycles to explore the vast park more comfortably. Other rental items may include sports equipment, depending on the season.
