My visit to Odori Park in July was one of the highlights of my time in Sapporo. Located right in the heart of the city, this beautiful green space is home to the iconic Sapporo TV Tower and serves as a vibrant gathering place for both locals and visitors alike.
The park is incredibly easy to access from anywhere in Chuo Ward, making it the perfect spot to relax, take a leisurely stroll, or simply soak in the lively atmosphere. During the summer months, Hokkaido's natural beauty is on full display, with colourful flowers, lush greenery, and pleasant weather creating a truly picturesque setting.
Odori Park is surrounded by an excellent selection of restaurants and cafés, while seasonal festivals, food stalls, and cultural events bring the entire area to life. Whether you're visiting during the day to admire the beautifully maintained gardens or in the evening when the illuminated Sapporo TV Tower creates a spectacular skyline, the experience is equally memorable.
A must-visit destination for anyone travelling to Sapporo, offering the perfect blend of nature, city life, and local culture.

•One of my favorite parks in Japan! Great for just walking around, hot coffee in hand, lounging on the benches or grass, and people watching.
•The view of the sky, trees, and TV tower are lovely especially during sunny days and sunsets.
•Well-maintained and clean areas. A lot of benches around.
•There is also so much good food options around Odori, from coffee & matcha shops, brunch cafes, sushi, ramen & soup curry restaurants, to dessert shops. I always find something great to try!
•Coffee trucks, and small stores selling corn and ice cream are also usually open in the park grounds.
Odori Park is a long and beautiful urban park that stretches through the heart of Sapporo. It serves as both a relaxing green space and a major venue for seasonal festivals and city events throughout the year.
One of its most recognizable features is the iconic Sapporo TV Tower, which stands at the eastern end of the park and provides a classic Sapporo cityscape.
Visiting in late May, the park was filled with fresh greenery and a pleasant early-summer atmosphere. During this period, part of the park hosted the Lilac Festival, with festival booths, local products, and seasonal displays adding extra vibrancy to the area.
Odori Park is a beautiful and well maintained urban oasis in the heart of Sapporo. Although it can get quite crowded, the lively atmosphere adds to its charm. There are often events happening, with food stalls and activities that make the park feel vibrant and welcoming.
The park offers one of the best views of the Sapporo TV Tower, and its long stretch of greenery is perfect for a relaxing stroll or a quiet break from the city. The colourful flower displays are beautifully maintained and add even more character to the space. A must-visit if you’re in Sapporo.
Honestly, I am really touched to catch up the tail of the 76th Snow fest. It's stunning to have all the snow masterpieces in a designated park. It's due on 11 Feb, when I arrived Sapporo, I could only access on the Odori Park, which shows amazing huge and biggest snow sculpturessss. The anime-related sculptures which lightened up my trip. Last but not least, the organizers and sponsors are extremely considerate who arranged multiple indoor resting stations to let visitors get warm and recharge in prolonged outdoor exposures. Big thanks!!!
