This is the most wonderful cherry blossom viewing spot I've ever seen!
The cherry blossoms at night are truly indescribably beautiful!
You should definitely go!
I was deeply moved by the efforts of the local people to preserve this wonderful cherry blossom viewing spot!
It's an initiative involving drums and flutes!
I had originally planned to combine a stay at the Yamashien National Inn with cherry blossom viewing, but I couldn't get a reservation for a Japanese-Western style room, so I visited the park during the day without staying overnight.
The cherry blossoms, concentrated around the moat, were spectacular, and the park is a place where you can feel the arrival of spring without having to walk very far!
The cherry blossoms are beautiful during the day, but they're also stunning at night when they're lit up.
Many people come to see them every year.
The paths are well-maintained, making it easy to walk, and there's parking nearby, which is a huge plus.
Although it's not particularly well-known locally as a tourist attraction, it is an old mountain castle🏯 and the remains of a moat and mountain towers remain.
The area around the moat has been developed into a park, but if you climb the mountain from the shrine's stone steps, you'll find a flat area at the top where the castle tower once stood. The difference in altitude is about 100m, so it takes 20-30 minutes to climb.
