This is the cluster of many Izakayas (Japanese pubs) serving local food.
But it was extremely crowded and I wasn't able to find only 1 vacant seat.
So I decided to get to go the foods and enjoy at the hotel.
The most famous local food in Kochi is "Katsuo Tataki" (Rare steak of skipjack tuna),
Tosa-Maki is a kind of Sushi, by wrapping Katsuo Tataki in rice and seaweed.
It contains raw garlic, which gives it a strong kick, but it's delicious.
Fried whale is another traditional local dish that has been loved in Kochi for a long time.
It's basically a food court filled with most foreign tourist, not so much a market any more. I visited on a Monday in late May, by no means high tourist season.
Internet has ruined the place. There're plenty of other restaurants near by, and the price is comparable.
Something like Huge food court with many shops you can enjoy. You can sit anywhere if it is available. Crowded at lunch time. Here you can enjoy various type of food and drinks, especially Katsuo (smoked Tuna) the famous dish of Kochi.
If you have no plan to go anywhere else. You can stay here all day!!!
Katsu Taitaki is very delicious here. There are many other options to eat as well. It can be very crowded and therefore kind of intimidating but its worth the food. The wagyu options were all closed since we went on a weekday :(
Very interesting market, alot of eateries, although crowded, but not too difficult to find seats for two, came here for the famous straw smoked skipjack tuna, a set cost around 1600yen, beer 500yen, it was a fun nice
