Fantastic day out in traditional Japan
We have had a fantastic day on the Nakasendō trail going from Magome to Tsumago. Yama San has been a fantastic guide keeping us both entertained and informed. We especially enjoyed the places he found for us that were away from the crowds that most visitors won’t know to go to. The trail through the forest was breath taking and we were even able to drink fresh mountain water from a special spot. It was not to taxing a walk as we went from the waterfall to Tsumago. If you walk from Magome the first part is uphill. The villages themselves are very representative of old Japan and are very striking. Even the gift shops are traditional. Yama San took many photos along our walk and some from very unusual angles which were very striking. We will have some great memories to take home
