No. A skilled iaido master teaches safety, posture, and cutting technique step by step before you handle a real blade.

A rolled tatami straw mat, struck with a genuine, razor-sharp shinken after your practice with the training sword.

How do I find the dojo?

It is a short walk from Osaka Business Park Station (Exit 1) or JR Osaka Castle Park Station, or about 10 minutes from the West Exit of JR Kyobashi Station. Look for the wooden Samurai Honor sign and the pamphlet rack out front.

Will someone take photos?

Yes. Staff photograph your poses and your strike, and the image data is sent to your designated email address.

Feel the weight and edge of a genuine katana at a traditional dojo in Osaka. After learning iaido stances and swings with a practice sword, you cut through a rolled straw mat with a razor-sharp shinken under a master's guidance.

Arrive 30 minutes before your session for instructions and changing clothes.
Participants must be at least 15 years old.
The instructor may switch you to a practice sword if live cutting seems unsafe.
Wear an undershirt or short-sleeved T-shirt and underwear under your training wear.
Bring a spare T-shirt and water to stay comfortable during training.
Never draw a sword unless the instructor gives permission.
Guests who have drunk alcohol beforehand cannot take part.
Use Google Maps to find the dojo, as Apple Maps shows an incorrect address.
No parking is available at the dojo.
Contact us in advance to confirm Italian, Spanish, French, or Chinese-language support is available.
The dojo is not wheelchair or stroller accessible.
Not recommended for travelers with back problems, heart conditions, or pregnancy.
