Get ready for a one-of-a-kind cultural experience in Tokyo, where you’ll discover the world of sumo wrestling up close. Led by former professional wrestlers, this hands-on activity offers a fun and educational look into Japan’s national sport. 

You’ll learn about sumo history, traditions, and training routines, all explained in simple English. You’ll even get the chance to challenge a wrestler in a friendly match and snap memorable photos together.

After working up an appetite, enjoy a hearty Japanese meal featuring Tonkatsu Bento (crispy pork cutlets) and Chanko Nabe – a special hotpot dish eaten by real sumo wrestlers. There’s also an optional dinner plan with premium Wagyu Sukiyaki and dessert.

  • Please arrive by 12:40 p.m. as the show begins promptly at 1:00 p.m.

  • Adult and child pricing differs between regular and peak seasons (March 15–April 30)

  • E-vouchers will be emailed in advance; show it upon arrival for entry

  • Selected guests may participate in a fun sumo suit match, though not everyone will be chosen

  • Photo opportunities with the sumo wrestlers are included at the end of the show

  • Vegetarian and halal options are available when requested in advance

  • In some cases, tables may be shared with other guests to accommodate everyone

  • Large groups may be split between tables depending on space availability

  • Dietary needs must be communicated at booking or at least one week before the event

  • Same-day meal changes or special requests cannot be accommodated

  • Timeliness is essential as the program starts on time and cannot be delayed

Arrival and Check-in

Arrive at the venue and show your e-voucher at the entrance. Friendly staff will guide you to your seat, which is already assigned based on your booking.

Doors Open & Lunch is Served

The event space opens, and your meal will be served. Guests who requested vegetarian or halal options will be served first. Enjoy a delicious Japanese meal prepared with care.

  • Meal Includes: Crispy pork cutlet, Chanko Nabe (hotpot made by sumo wrestlers), ice cream, and your choice of oolong tea or water

  • Time: 12:45 PM

Sumo Performance and Demonstration

Watch an exciting live demonstration by real former sumo wrestlers. They will show basic movements, training forms, and explain sumo traditions in a fun and easy way.

  • Time: 1:20 PM

Try Sumo Yourself!

A few lucky guests will be chosen to wear a sumo suit or mawashi belt and playfully face off with a wrestler in the ring. It’s safe, fun, and great for laughs!

Group Photo Time

After the match, each group or family gets a chance to take pictures with the wrestlers. This is your moment to capture memories of the experience.

Q&A With the Wrestlers

Ask the wrestlers anything! From their lifestyle to training routines, they’ll happily answer your questions. It’s a rare chance to hear directly from sumo pros.

Program Ends

The tour ends with a warm farewell. You’ll leave with a full stomach and a deeper understanding of Japan’s national sport.
