Do I need any drumming experience?

No. The session starts with foundation and rhythm training and builds up gradually, so complete beginners are welcome alongside experienced drummers.

Who teaches the workshop?

Eva Kestner, a Tokyo-born taiko drummer, folk dancer, and educator who received the Excellency Award at the Ichikawa New Artists Competition and whose original music has been published by Harper Collins. She teaches the full session in English, with Japanese support available.

Is equipment provided?

Yes, taiko drums and drumming sticks are provided for every participant, so you only need to bring yourself, comfortable clothes, and some water.

Can children take part?

Yes, the workshop is family friendly and there is no minimum age, which makes it a fun activity for groups traveling with kids.
