Takeshita Street is definitely one of the most famous places to visit in Harajuku, and I think it’s worth checking out at least once.
That said, it gets incredibly crowded, especially on weekends. There were so many people that it was sometimes hard to even walk through the street. You should also be a little careful, as there are people who approach tourists with questionable offers or promotions.
I tried the famous Harajuku crepes, and they were actually really good! I was expecting them to be quite expensive because they’re so famous, but the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Definitely worth trying!
The street is mostly about shopping, with lots of clothing, accessories, and small shops. There’s also a pretty large Daiso, which was fun to check out.
Honestly, though, I don’t think I would come back. Once you’ve walked around, done some shopping, and tried a crepe, there isn’t really much else to do. It’s a fun place to experience once, but the crowds can be overwhelming.
Overall, I’d say it’s worth visiting if you’re in Harajuku, especially for the atmosphere and the famous crepes, but one visit was enough for me.
