The Edogawa riverbed sports grounds encompass a collection of recreational facilities built along Tokyo's Edogawa River, representing modern urban planning that transforms flood-prone riverbanks into valuable community spaces. The baseball field has four playing fields (for elementary school students), while the Rinkai Ball Game Field is a sports ground on a vast roof top of a very large-scaled water supply facility.

These facilities emerged as part of Tokyo's post-war development strategy to maximize limited urban space while providing flood protection. The grounds demonstrate innovative Japanese engineering by building recreational areas on top of water treatment facilities, creating multi-functional infrastructure that serves both practical and recreational purposes.

The riverbed grounds host various sporting activities throughout the year, from local baseball leagues to community festivals. Games, such as baseball, football, rugby, lacrosse and futsal, are held here. Visitors can watch local matches, participate in community sports programs, or simply enjoy walking along the riverside paths with views toward Tokyo Skytree in the distance. The area becomes particularly vibrant during cherry blossom season when the riverside parks attract picnickers and festival-goers.

The grounds are accessible via multiple train lines serving Edogawa Ward. JR Sobu (Local) Line (Hirai and Koiwa stations); JR Keiyou Line (Kasai Rinkai Koen station); Keisei Main Line (Keisei Koiwa and Edogawa stations); Toei Shinjuku Line all provide convenient access. Most facilities are free to access for spectators, though specific sports ground rentals require advance booking through Edogawa Ward's recreation department. The area connects easily with nearby attractions including Kasai Rinkai Park and Tokyo Sea Life Park.
