Arrive at Hida Folk Village, an open-air museum set just outside central Takayama. Walk through a collection of over 30 traditional buildings relocated from across the Hida region, including gassho-zukuri farmhouses with steep thatched roofs, craftsmen's homes, ancient shrines, and rustic outbuildings. Each structure is a designated National Important Folk Cultural Asset.
