Sushi and Bento Making Class in Tsukiji, Tokyo

I attended this sushi making class by myself and ended up being the only one as they other participants were sick. Akiko and Masa were AMAZING!! Akiko walked through the sushi making process step by step and gave great tips, and provided some interesting history. Masa got all the ingredients for the sushi the morning of. The class also provided a handmade bento box, and my end result was beautiful! You get to eat the sushi after the class, and it is some of the best I have ever had. I am so grateful for their kindness, their patience, and joy. This was one of the highlights of my trip. They just began their class in March, PLEASE TAKE IT!! Absolutely no regrets. I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour! Our guide, AJ, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and energetic. The day started with a fascinating walking tour of the Tsukiji Outer Market, where AJ shared interesting facts about Japanese food culture and the local ingredients. After the market, we moved on to the hands-on sushi-making experience. AJ was an excellent instructor—patient, encouraging, and highly skilled. He broke down the techniques for shaping the rice and placing the fish so that even complete beginners could follow along perfectly. The sushi we made tasted phenomenal, and the whole atmosphere was so much fun. If you are looking for an authentic and memorable food experience in Tokyo, I highly recommend booking this tour.
