Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera are two of the most visited sites in Japan. In the early morning, the torii gate corridors and temple terrace are significantly quieter than at midday when large groups and tour buses arrive. Starting early allows guests to experience both sites at their most peaceful.
Yasaka Koshindo is a small temple in the Higashiyama district notable for its unusually colorful decorations and the distinctive hanging monkey-shaped omamori charms that cover its exterior. The date of its construction is unknown, and it stands out from the more typical aesthetic of Kyoto temples.
No. Kiyomizu-dera Temple charges an admission fee of 500 Japanese Yen per person, payable on entry. This is not included in the tour price.
Yes. A private tour option is available. Contact the operator at the time of booking for details and pricing.
My family and I had a wonderful experience in our private guided tour of Kyoto temples and shrines. The early start meant fewer crowds, quieter visits, better photo ops, and faster access to the sites and trains. It may have helped that we toured on a weekday. Our tour guide Ikki was very friendly, generous, knowledgeable, helped us with family photos, and even squeezed in an extra temple near by because my family were brisk with visits.
