Absolutely stunning park.
Each stop has its own glamour.
It can be a little busy at places, but if you walk a ways it thins out. Even with the crowd this area is majestic.
Be aware that in arrival I was informed I couldn't bring my private car or hike between spots, but there is a longer hiking trail at some of the stops.
Luckily, The bus system is incredibly convenient.
Kamikochi is one of the most beautiful places I've visited in Japan. The crystal-clear Azusa River, Kappa Bridge, and stunning mountain views make it a perfect destination for nature lovers and photographers. The walking trails are well maintained and suitable for all ages. Private vehicles are not allowed inside, so you'll need to take a shuttle bus from the designated parking area. The round-trip bus fare is around ¥3,000 per person, but if you're traveling as a group some discount may apply, group of 5 members ticket costs ¥12,500, making it a more economical option. The peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking scenery make the trip absolutely worth it. I highly recommend visiting, especially during the autumn season!
Regarding the kamikochi Miyojin Ike Pond hike.
A fantastic and easy hike that’s suitable for almost anyone. The well-maintained trails wind alongside the stunning crystal-clear, turquoise waters of the Azusa River, with breathtaking mountain scenery at every turn. The route offers a nice variety of paths, including riverside boardwalks, forest trails, and scenic bridges, keeping the walk interesting from start to finish. There are plenty of spots to stop for photos or simply take in the peaceful surroundings. Kamikochi is an excellent destination for those wanting to experience the Japanese Alps without tackling a difficult hike. The scenery is spectacular, and the gentle terrain makes it an enjoyable walk for all fitness levels.
Stunning place to visit. I came in summer on a very hot day. The drive up to the bus station was beautiful, seeing monkeys on the road near the top. Once arriving to the bus station, there was a lot of parking, and a very comfortable bus ride to Kamikochi. Once we arrived it was much cooler, with stunning views of the mist covered pond. The weather changed quickly once we arrived, with an unexpected thunderstorm with very little rain. It added to the atmosphere and was a truly special experience. There were many people, and I can understand why. Felt like being in Europe.
A truly beautiful place surrounded by peaceful nature. The scenery was amazing, and the atmosphere was so calm and refreshing. I really enjoyed spending time here and appreciating the beauty of nature. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and wants to relax away from the busy city life. 🌿✨
