It’s a beautiful hiking trail to the castle ruin site. It’s far from the ota station so I took a taxi to the guidance center. From there it took about 40ish minutes to climb. It’s very doable but I would say it’s vigorous course.
Stamp is located at the final rest area not at the guidance center. But if you want to buy gojoin like castle’s calligraphy you need to buy at the guidance center.
If you are driving, don’t park at the Guidance Facility, instead park at the Observatory (check on Google Map), that saves you walking up most of the hill.
Amazing ruins and unique structures, definitely worth spending a couple of hours here.
Really amazing castle ruin and one of the Top 100 Castles of Japan. You have to hike a little to get to the stamp.
A nearby museum has information about the castle's history in English and Japanese, as well as the Gojouin for this castle.
There’s a 10 minutes walk from parking lot to the stamp place. The 100-castle stamp is self-served that no staff is watching. I guess it’s always available even after 5pm or before 9am.
Great place for a walk. I am a history bug for I love places like this castle. There are still foundation of the castle remain enough to let your imagination run about what it was like when the full castle here. On the top part, you can see Ota and surrounding aeras.
Definitely, a much if you come visit Ota, Gunma Japan.
