One of the best hiking spot.
About of 1400meters high.
Walking distance 7-8 km.
4-5 toilets on the way.
Flushing system is a leg pressing flush . Not even allowed to flush the toilet papers in which cause the blockage.
No Water taps above except at the base area in front of the Huge Water Reservoir ( big black tank) .
It could be helpful if you have an Empty bottles or a plastic container ( could be bought at DAISO . I did that)
Should be careful about the shivering cold breeze at the top of the hill. It seems to be very windy after noon . Wind shelters are necessary. Hoody the best .
Not much flat area for dozens of people to cook and eat. Early reach the best.
Sloppy pebbled paths in many places which makes down walk very risky. I decided to have a real professional boots at least after this experience.
I challenged to go with my daughters 5&10 and my wife. It’s not the perfect hike for kids of her age 5.
Many hikers were astonished to see my lil one though she was enjoying most of the time . But had to keep on motivating her that we are going to a hot spring ( onsen ) and a good dinner after we finish it . lol
Few Restaurants seems to be closed after few hours open in the middle but the top one was open .
I forgot to take chopsticks so I did pay 200¥ for 4 pairs of wooden one time use chopsticks.
And was guessing the hot water that restaurant has worth 100¥ per cup lol.
Car parking at the base was cheap 500¥ for one time .
Pay in advance means I paid once I parked. It was in the morning at 5:30
Anyway was a good practice hike for other more difficult ones .
Tanzawa was very close to this peak.
My. Fuji seemed close and beautiful as usual.
This is November so autumn leaves were good notice too.
It’s steep, rocky and very windy but the views are amazing. You should bring proper hiking gears (shoes, sticks, scarf,…)
Love that mountain, just hard enough to relax on the weekend.
Good
This is a long 14km course from Yabitsu Pass to Mount Tonodake and then to the Okura bus stop. Make sure you bring plenty of water and food. Don't forget your headlamp.
